Refinery

Perenco operates the Libertad Refinery. This is an important strategic asset in Guatemala, and producing also the fuel for the electricity generation and fluid pumping drives for the entire Perenco operation.

The refinery is also key in the production of high quality asphalt for national and international sales. The main refinery units consist of an atmospheric distillation column, a vacuum column and a desulphurization unit.

Refinery crude oil throughput is 5,000 bpd in order to produce 3,000 bpd of asphalt products. Perenco is currently Guatemala's sole asphalt and fuel producer.
