Xan Field

The Xan field is the oil industry's main producing asset in Guatemala.  The field currently produces 11,500 barrels of oil per day  from 34 wells (Electro Submersible Pump activated).

All produced water is re-injected to the same reservoir at a depth of 7,500 ft for secondary recovery from ten of the wells and for pressure maintenance.  Associated natural gas is conditioned for power generation.  Produced oil is then pumped into the 475 km 12" pipeline for transportation to the Piedras Negras terminal for export.

Since taking over the Xan field, production was significantly increased thanks to Perenco's investment in new production wells for primary recovery,  water injection wells and facilities for secondary recovery.

Safety and environmental responsibility is an integral part of operations at  Xan.
