The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is a process by which government revenues generated by the private sector of the extractive industries of oil and mining, such as taxes, payments for rights and royalties are voluntarily published in reports that are reviewed by an independent third party.

In Guatemala, Perenco was invited by the Government to integrate the Commission, taking into account the importance of the oil operation for the country's economy through which Perenco Guatemala generates to the state more than ninety percent of income of the oil sector, making it one of the largest contributors.

This initiative will include both private and civil society organizations, which play a significant role in the social audit of the use given to the resources generated by the business.

Guatemala formally submitted its application to the organization "Transparency International" and has taken all necessary actions to complete the process and become one of the countries that manages revenues from the extractive industries in a transparent manner.

Perenco Guatemala has joined this Commission. Where the group operates, it is committed to its safety, environment, social responsibility and ethics policies.
